Drinking Water

Houston drinking water meets or exceeds Federal and State regulations.

Our number one priority is protecting public health by supplying the community with high-quality drinking water.

Drinking Water Operations professionals proudly produce some of the best quality drinking water in the nation and continually meet or exceed state and federal drinking water regulations.

Wastewater

Each day, Houston’s 38 wastewater treatment plants process and purify an average of 250 million gallons of wastewater to make it safe to return to our bayous and lakes.

The treated water meets the highest water quality standards, ensuring our local ecosystems continue to thrive for generations to come.

Stormwater

In 2017, approximately 25% of homes and businesses in Houston were impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

As Houston's population continues to grow, and more homes and businesses are built, more people will be vulnerable to the negative impacts of flooding.
